Been a bit quiet recently as its summer and we've been away form uni, but I thought as were starting back in a few weeks I should really practice my sewing!
I have a black sleeveless cardigan and I really wanted a long sleeve lace crop top to wear over a vest top and under the card again to get a layered look to my outfits. After looking around I could only find ones I liked with short sleeves so I thought I should have a go at making my own! I think it went surprisingly well, iv even worn it out a couple of times!
It looks a little wide in the photo but it fits well as I wanted it a but baggy :)

Penarth Beach and Pier - Wales
Hey it's millie, I'm spending my summer in Wales and the other day i went to Penarth beach and pier, near Cardiff Bay, these are a couple of pics of me on the pebble beach. I wouldn't have thought to put these on the blog but people who've seen the photos said they were really good and so i thought I'd pop them up, plus it shows what I wear on a day to day basis. The cardigan is a drop pocket style from New Look, the top is a long strap top from H&M, Scarf/Snood from Topshop, bag from River Island, leggings Primark and the fringed boots are second hand from Ebay, but originally from Topshop. Vintage Suitcases
Hey it's millie, I haven't been posting as i haven't had internet for a while but i'm back online now and thought as a quick post i'd pop a few pics up of these gorgeous real vintage suitcases that i found on ebay. The top one is from the 1930's it has a lovely blue paisley print on the inside as well. The second one down is and early 1900's one it has some faded initials on it which i think are E.G.T, it's british made. The bottom one is a 1950s/1960s one, its my favourite out of the 3. These are really great for storage and they give the impression of travel and excitement i like to think :) the most expensive was £20 without postage and the cheapest was only £1.99, postage can be expensive but well worth it when you find little gems like these, ebay is a great place to look, Lexiy also has some which she got at the clothes roadshow (again all very gorgeous) so places ike that are great to find genuine vintage pieces!!!!

Re-Love
Hey it's Millie,
As Lexiy explained this is our last project of our first year at uni. It was all about recycling interior fabrics to create an interesting and innovative garment. I found my fabrics on ebay and from charity shops, the floral fabric was originally bed curtains and the plain pink fabric was originally bedsheets. I was inspired by a culture clash of english heritige florals and and oriental inspired kimono silhouette. Both mine and Lexiy's garments featured in the Newport university graduate fashion show as well :) I'm modelling my garment, photographs taken and editied by Martyn Lyon.

Re-Love: Our Last Project!
Hey its Lexiy,
We have come to the end of our first year of uni and time has flown by! Here are some images of my final project. Millie will add hers shortly! The brief was on ethical fashion; we had to use previously used interior fabrics to create a couture style piece suitable for a spring summer collection. The fabric I chose was rather old fashioned so I wanted to create a garment that was young and would contrast with this. I decided on a play suit as its young, fun and also suitable for the summer. Here you can see my final design along with illustrations for my 5 developed designs and my final design and photos (taken by Martyn Lyon) of the final garment.
